Things I learned this past year: 1) Do it now- I never thought in a million years that we would’ve lost the two people that we recently lost in our family. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so stop putting off those things that you know you’ve been called to do. Personally, I don’t want to leave this earth until I’ve done everything God created me for. Also, remember that everyone was created for something different. Don’t lose YOU by comparing yourself to what someone else is doing. What’s yours is yours and what’s theirs is theirs. We all were birth to do different things. That’s what makes us all beautiful and special! (2) Make the phone call-I wrestle with this quite often! If only I would’ve made the call! Sometimes we get so busy or wrapped up in what we are doing and we say, “I’ll call them later!” Sometimes later never comes! Pick up the phone now!!!! It’s more happening in this world than what’s right in front of you. Don’t get so caught up in what’s happening right in front of you that you miss what’s happening around you! (read that again) (3) If God placed it on your heart, he will guide you through the process to make it happen-It had been placed on my heart for years to do some things that I know I’m supposed to do. I let fear and overthinking stop me from doing those things. I wanted things to be a certain way before I would do them. I kept thinking about all of the things that could go wrong. I thought about not having the means to do what was placed in my heart. So all of this made me not move forward. This year with some encouragement from some people in my circle, I decided to start. I dedicated a portion of each day doing a little bit at a time and before I knew it, I completed my first project. (I promise, the book will be released soon. Just have a few tweaks to make) God will guide you through the process! If it’s what you are supposed to do, he will make a way for you to do it!
(4) Acknowledge the Holy Spirit Daily-The Holy Spirit is our pilot and we don’t rely on it enough! God gave us this most valuable gift and it’s like we just set it aside and only acknowledge it in certain situations. The Holy Spirit is available to us 24/7! It lives inside of us! It deserves more of our attention! How amazing it is to be blessed with a precious gift that lives on the inside of us!
(5) Don’t limit what God can do (often times we think miracles could only happen for those people talked about in the Bible) God is the same yesterday, today and forever! I remember as a teenager, I believed God could do anything! Being the only child in my household, I had a crazy imagination! So nothing was too big for me to imagine and therefore nothing was too big for God to do! For the most part, I have remained a pretty positive person. But I lost my imagination in believing what some call impossible, being possible. This year God showed me how he can turn any situation around. He showed me that no matter what people say, HE has the final say! He renewed my belief in miracles!
So much stress and so many tears shed in the last 3 1/2 years! I experienced some the the saddest moments and some of the happiest moments! Guess what! I’m grateful for it all! I’ve learned so much from it all and It’s shaped me into who I am today!
Today I say hello to Chapter 48! I’m strong, I’m fearless, I’m worthy and I am loved! I am the daughter of a King!
Thank you all for the birthday love! I pray that even on my darkest days I was able to bring a little sunshine to your life!
