How often do we say this when it comes to something that we know we should be doing? Something we know we should’ve done a long time ago. We tell ourselves that we need that right time. That right moment. That PERFECT moment!!! What is that exactly? What does that mean for you? We all have different views as to what that means. My perfect moment may mean something different than yours. Sometimes we are waiting for things to change for us financially. Some of us are waiting until the kids are out of the house. Others are waiting until the sun shines consecutively 3 days in a row. LOL Just kidding. It’s ALWAYS something that will have you feeling like the time isn’t just right yet. Do you know what that really is? It’s called fear! I know at least for me it is. I was having a conversation with one of my friends the other day about things that I wanted to do and I had all of these excuses as to why I couldn’t do them. I am an overthinker. So I will overthink my way out of just about anything. So in this conversation, my friend says, “I think you are afraid to succeed!”. Of course, I had this puzzled look on my face because who is afraid of success!? After I took a moment to process what she said, I responded, “You are right!”. I’ve never looked at myself as being afraid to succeed, but indeed I am. Deep down I know, if the projects I am working on take off, I am going to have to make some difficult decisions. Decisions, I’m just not ready to face. See, I am a little bit of a people-pleaser and I hate letting people down. Once I am committed to something that involves someone else, I stay with it. In some cases, some not-so-healthy situations. You know how you’ve been in a situation so long that you know you should leave, but you are comfortable. That’s what I mean when I say I am going to have to make some difficult decisions. Change can be scary. We like to stay with what is familiar to us. It’s our safe place. Even if that place is hindering our growth. It’s not easy to step out on faith. That’s where God comes in though. I feel like if it’s something you love to do and God placed it in your heart, go for it! You don’t need to worry about all of the details because he has already taken care of that for you. You just have to move. Once you start moving, those doors will open for you. This week I challenged you to complete one task on that to-do list for that project you’ve been sitting on. Let’s blossom and create a beautiful garden together!
